WHY FIELD LOG

Built for people
who take the field seriously.

The images being captured across the naturalist community are stunning, awe-inspiring, and breathtaking. They deserve a platform built with the same care that went into capturing them — not a database form, not a social feed that buries them in an hour.

FROM THE FOUNDERS

We have spent years engaging with the outdoors in very different ways.

One of us has spent 15 years enjoying the outdoors, casually taking pictures under the stars, in the water, and out in nature. The passion was always there, but there was never a system that made organizing those finds satisfying or the progress visible.

The other came at it from a scientific perspective. With a background in biology and insect taxonomy, including naming three new species of bees, she understands the incredible diversity of the natural world. While she is more likely to be found foraging or gardening than behind a camera, her academic background provided the scientific foundation that a casual collection was missing.

We realized that for anyone who spends time in the field, the find is only half the battle. The other half is having a professional place to put it. We built FieldLog Studio to be the system we wished we had a decade ago. It is a place to catalog nature, reflect on how far you've come, and see how much more there is to discover.

Catalog. Reflect. Discover. Challenge.
